This design was similar to the fluting on the case back, which was also screwed down using a special Rolex tool to guarantee water resistance. Unlimited Creative Possibilities
Lacquer offers virtually unlimited possibilities for color expression, with perfect intensity and a smooth, refined finish. The lacquering technique involves applying six successive ultra-thin layers of lacquer onto a brass base plate.

A transparent varnish is then added to enhance the color’s depth and brilliance. Once the varnish dries, the surface of the dial is polished to magnify its color. The dial is then ready for pad printing and the application of markers and decorative elements.
